We collect information that you provide directly, that is generated through your use of the platform, and that we receive from service providers who help us operate Origin.

Account and contact information. When you request a demo, create an account, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, password or authentication credentials, and any message you send us.

Society and membership information. If you administer or belong to a breed association using Origin, we process membership details, farm or prefix information, addresses, dues and payment status, role assignments, and communications related to your society account.

Registry and animal records. Societies and their authorized users enter pedigree and registry data into the platform, which may include animal registration numbers, names, scrapie tags, farm tags, sire and dam links, ownership and breeder history, certificates, health or flock records, and related notes submitted for registration workflows.

Payment information. If your society enables online payments, payment details are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Usage and technical information. We automatically collect log data, device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and actions taken within the service to maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.

We use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Origin;
• Create and manage user, society, and membership accounts;
• Process registry submissions, approvals, transfers, certificates, and reports;
• Facilitate communications between societies and their members;
• Process demo requests, support inquiries, and service notifications;
• Monitor usage, detect fraud, and protect the security of our platform;
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

Within your society. Registry, membership, and animal information you submit may be visible to authorized society administrators and, depending on society settings and your role, to other members of your breed association.

Service providers. We use trusted vendors for hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and customer support. These providers may access information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bellwether Labs, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this Privacy Policy.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Society registry data is retained according to your society's use of the platform and applicable recordkeeping requirements.

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location and relationship to a society account, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, or object to specific processing activities. Society members should contact their breed association administrator for registry-related requests. You may also contact us directly using the information below.

You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us. Service-related communications may still be sent when necessary to operate your account.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve the platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect certain features.

Origin is intended for use by breed associations and their authorized members. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
